Axel Steven Everaert began his musical education in the National Opera House in Brussels. He undertook further singing studies in Rome and Zurich. He first received international recognition in the International Competition for Coloratura Singing in Stuttgart, leading to his debut as Don Polidoro in Mozarts “Finta Semplice” at the Bühnen der Stadt Köln. Axel Everaert has given recitals and concerts in Belgium, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Canada and Latvia. Several of his recitals and concerts have been broadcast live by the National Radios in Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Germany. Furthermore, he was a guest singer in the Opera Houses of Rome, Palermo, Venezia, Napoli, Paris (Opera Comique), Cologne, Aachen, Koblenz, Athens (Megaron) Lille, Besançon, Avignon and the National Opera House in Brussels. He has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras as the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, the Baden-Baden Orkester, the Hamburger Barockorkester, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Nationaal Orkest van België, the Collegium Instrumentale Brughense and Musica Antiqua Köln. His repertoire covers among others the Bach and Haendel oratorios, major operatic roles by Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti. Axel Everaert has a particular interest in the Italian Belcanto repertoire, specializing in high coloratura tenor parts. Axel Everaert is currently professor of Voice and Opera at the Conservatoire in Maastricht, The Netherlands, and Vocal Coach at the Latvian National Opera in Riga. He is regularly invited for masterclasses on Italian repertoire and on coloratura singing. In 2012 and 2013 he is a guest teacher in autumns ENOA Masterclass in Riga as well as in several European Music Academies. He is regularly invited for Juries and commentary boards of international contests (s.a. IVC, Den Bosch and the Queen Elisabeth Contest).
